Tackling an appetite with soul food dishes - Out and About
Tackling an appetite with soul food dishes - Out and About
You won't catch this former Pittsburgh Steeler running offensive plays, but there's a chance you may find him running out of the kitchen with a fresh order of "Soul Rolls." Barrett Charles Soul Rood Restaurant at 5920 Green St. in Germantown, is owned and operated by Super Bowl XL champion Barrett Charles Brooks and his wife, Sonji. In addition to serving some of the best soul food in the city, the restaurant offers live entertainment, networking opportunities and an at-home atmosphere. "The family intermingles and really comes together around the dinner table," Barrett said. "The restaurant is an extension of our family." The couple had talked for years about opening a restaurant, and planned to name it after a cookbook Sonji had recently finished, "From Sonji's Kitchen, for Barrett Charles."

During a true time of need following the sudden death of Brother Kelvin "Quip" Healey's wife, Sister Connie Healey (DST). The Brothers of Omega Psi Phi and the Sisters of Delta Sigma Theta were there to provide uplift and spiritual support to Brother Kelvin and his family. Well the wait is finally over, the book has arrived. For those that were not informed about this artistic writing journey that i have been traveling, let me bring you up to speed.
I have written my first novel entitled Timeless: A series of intimate love tales. The book is about a young boy who experiences several love infatuation up through manhood until he finds the love of his life. The novel shares the experiences of a young man who matures through 70's 80's and 90's, which many of you maybe able to identify way.
The book was a lot of fun to write and i hope you will take the time to share that experience with me. I've attached a photo of the cover in this email. I'm in the process of site up a web page so that you can make purchases of the book on line. But in the mean time anyone wishing to purchase my book can email me with their information and i will make arrangements for them to receive a copy via USPS.
The cost of the book is $15.00. for those that are out side of the South Jersey-Philadelphia area may have to incur a small shipping and handling fee. Most of you have my personal information so if you would like to contact me to get more information about this book and my next project do hesitate to call me.
I am really excited about the book, and when you get your copy i am very confident that you will enjoy too. Look for my web page, as i will be sending you up dates once it is up and running. http://www.shadowromanz.com/
